The snow is falling this morning and that means I’ll be eager to head out with my new camera and show the beauty of Maine this time of year. And as much as I would love to keep Maine one of the best kept secrets, I always feel the need to dispel the myth about cold, gray winters.
So let’s compare Bar Harbor Maine’s 44 latitude to Buffalo New York’s 42 latitude: though Bar Harbor is farther north, a good portion of the state misses the Canadian jet stream dip thus the temperatures are not often as cold as upstate New York, or many of the states surrounding the Great Lakes.
